Keen to play Mines with no deposit bonuses in South Africa?
Following the successful launch of Aviator in 2019, Ukrainian software developer Spribe has kept the momentum going with simple, compelling games. One of them is Mines. In this review, I take a closer look and cover everything you should know before staking real money, with a focus on how no deposit offers apply to this title and how to approach the game with the right expectations.
My name is Erik King, and I am an expert in all things iGaming. I enjoy writing about games as much as I enjoy playing them, so let’s see why you might want to play Mines at real-money online casinos in South Africa.
First things first, this 2019 title is available at the best ZA casino sites featured on Zamsino. Like other Spribe releases, it won over South African players in no time, offering an alternative to traditional slot machines with quick rounds, clear rules, and transparent outcomes. If you are hunting for a starter bonus, remember that Mines is not a slot, so traditional free spins do not apply. You will need to rely on no deposit cash or site credit that can be used on eligible games instead.
These are the ZA bonus offers we currently have for Mines Slot:

Mines by Spribe Overview
Mines is Spribe’s take on a modern Minesweeper-style casino game where you choose your risk level, open cells on a 5×5 grid, and aim to avoid bombs. As you reveal stars, your potential payout grows for that round. The appeal lies in its control and clarity, paired with quick sessions and a provably fair system that lets you verify that outcomes were not manipulated.
Each round presents a new decision tree. You select a stake, set the number of bombs, and start revealing. After any successful reveal, you can end the round and bank the displayed multiplier, or continue and push for more. This balance between caution and ambition gives Mines its tension and replay value, especially if you prefer games where you set the tempo.

Free Play and No Deposit Bonuses on Mines
You might be wondering how to try Mines without putting your bankroll on the line. While most ZA gambling sites promote free spins for slots and new releases, you will not find free spins to play Mines, since it is not a slot. Instead, look for Zamsino-approved casinos that offer no deposit bonuses to South African players. One of these brands is Boo Casino. Once you receive free bonus cash, you can usually place bets on Mines just like any other eligible game.
Tip
Always read the Ts and Cs for wagering requirements, maximum cashout limits, and whether Mines is included in eligible games. Contribution rates and caps often differ from slots.
If a no deposit deal supports Mines, the bonus balance will act like real funds until wagering is complete. Watch for common restrictions such as time limits to finish wagering, a maximum bet per round while playing on bonus money, and different contribution percentages for non-slot games. If Mines is excluded, the cashier or game tile will usually show a notice when you try to launch it with bonus funds.
Game Details
Now, let me properly introduce Mines by Spribe. Keep reading to learn all the key details before you place a real-money bet on it.
Theme
As soon as you load Mines, you will spot the nod to Minesweeper, the iconic PC game many of us grew up with. The goal is to open as many cells as possible without hitting a mine. The grid hides stars and bombs. Revealing stars increases the payout potential for that round, while a bomb ends it. The loop is familiar, but turning that classic idea into bet-sized decisions makes it feel fresh in a casino setting.
Graphics and Sound Effects
Mines uses a minimalist interface so you can focus on choices rather than clutter. The 5×5 grid sits on a clean blue backdrop. Tapping a darker blue cell reveals a bright yellow star or a red mine, which stands out clearly against the board. Sound cues are discreet but do a good job of signalling a successful reveal or a loss. Key controls, like stake adjustment and bomb selection, are placed near the grid for quick access, and round results are easy to read at a glance.
Unique Features
The standout mechanic is that you choose how many bombs appear on the grid each round. Fewer bombs mean gentler variance and steadier, smaller multipliers. More bombs ramp up volatility and lift potential payouts. If you prefer not to pick cells manually, the Random feature can select them for you. As with other Spribe titles, provably fair technology is built-in so you can verify the integrity of each round.
Here is a quick example
Set a moderate number of bombs, place your stake, and pick your first cell. If a star appears, your displayed multiplier increases. You can continue revealing cells for bigger potential returns, or stop and preserve what you have already built up. Hitting a bomb ends the round. The tension comes from deciding whether the next reveal justifies the extra risk, given your chosen bomb density.
Betting Options
You can wager from R2 to R1,900 per round, which suits low-stakes testing and higher-stakes play alike. An autoplay option is available, letting you lock in a stake and have the game open cells each round automatically. You can set the number of rounds and define when autoplay should stop based on win or loss thresholds. Manual play remains popular because you can immediately cash out after a good reveal, which gives you direct control over each round’s endpoint.
Payouts
Your returns scale with the risk you set. At lower volatility, multipliers tend to climb slowly with each successful reveal. At higher volatility, the early multipliers are more substantial and grow faster as you continue. The top payout is capped at 100x per bet, so managing how far you push each round becomes part of the fun. A practical way to think about it is to set an upper limit for how many safe reveals you will chase at a given bomb count, then stick to it rather than improvising mid-round.
Pitfall
Cranking up the bomb count can feel exciting, but swings are sharper. Match your bomb count and bet size to a bankroll you are comfortable with.
Bonus Rounds
Mines trades traditional bonus features for fast, transparent gameplay. There are no additional bonus rounds or mini features to learn, which keeps the focus on risk selection and cell picking. If you enjoy depth that comes from decisions rather than layered features, that simplicity is part of its charm.
Mobile and Device Experience
Mines runs smoothly on mobile and desktop, with a touch-friendly layout that makes tapping cells on a phone feel natural. The clean visuals scale well on small screens, and the simple controls keep round times short, which is ideal for quick sessions on the go. Portrait orientation works well, and the interface keeps critical buttons spaced to avoid mis-taps.
User Experience
Mines delivers a streamlined experience if you enjoy simple yet engaging casino games. The interactivity is the main draw. Picking cells and watching the multiplier climb creates a sense of agency even though outcomes are random. Choosing the number of bombs adds a meaningful dial for pacing, so you can play cautiously or chase bigger returns depending on your mood and budget. In my sessions, I preferred manual picks over the Random button because it heightens anticipation, especially when playing slightly higher volatility. Reviewing round history between sessions also helps you calibrate your comfort with different bomb settings.
Fairness and Verification
As with other Spribe titles, Mines includes a provably fair system that lets you check that results were not altered after your bet. In practice, each round is generated from server and client seeds plus a nonce, then hashed so it can be verified after the fact. You can view the round’s hash and compare it with the disclosed seeds to confirm the outcome’s integrity. This transparency is useful if you care about fair play, and it sets Mines apart from traditional closed RNG experiences where there is no public verification step. In South Africa, the National Gambling Board and provincial gambling boards, such as the Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board, set standards for fairness and responsible gambling, so it is good practice to stick with licensed operators.
Mines vs. Online Slots
Compared with slots, Mines lets you set the pace and the risk profile each round. You decide how volatile the grid should be and how long to press your luck by continuing to reveal cells. Slots keep you at the mercy of a fixed paytable and spin cycle, while Mines layers in small decisions that impact your session’s flow. If you like crash-style games or other Spribe mini games where you tune volatility, Mines sits comfortably in that space while feeling familiar to anyone who has tried classic Minesweeper. The absence of payline complexity and feature rules means you can focus on a single question: cash out now, or take one more step.
Getting Started in South Africa
To play with a no deposit offer, register at a Zamsino listed ZA casino, complete FICA verification, and claim the bonus in your profile or cashier. Open Mines from the game lobby, choose your stake, and set the bomb count that fits your risk tolerance. If you are testing the waters with bonus cash, keep stakes modest and focus on learning how multipliers scale as you reveal stars. When you switch to real-money play, apply the same discipline with a clear session budget and time limit.
If your bonus includes a wagering tracker, keep an eye on progress so you do not overshoot the maximum cashout or bet size limits attached to the offer. When the bonus is cleared, reassess your bomb settings, since real-balance play often calls for tighter risk controls and earlier cashouts than when you were using promotional funds.
